Rock climbing is the sport of ascending rock cliffs using your body.  Think of a giant jungle gym for all ages! We utilize safety equipment, like ropes, to increase safety.

No. We have courses available for all skill levels. The course description will state whether experience is required. If this will be your first time climbing, we suggest signing up for our Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing Course.

No. As long as we have proper sized safety equipment, anyone can climb! We have had climbers as young as 4 and old as 72.

Our climbing equipment is rated to hold 1000’s of pounds. Our only restriction is harness size. Our harness specs:

Fits waist sizes 58-107 cm (23-42 in)

Fits leg sizes 43-71 cm (17-28 in)


No. We will supply everything you need.  You are welcome to bring your own equipment if you would like.

Rock climbing can be challenging. However, we have many routes you can climb and will always choose something appropriate for your skill level.

Trip Preparation

We have various climbing location around Denver. The course details should provide the specific area. Expect to travel 15 to 30 minutes from the Denver metro.  A location map is sent with your reservation confirmation.

We do have a shuttle bus available. Upon reserving your course, you can select our pickup/dropoff option. Complimentary shuttle available May through August.

Plan to bring at least 3 standard sized water bottles and sunblock. We will supply all the technical equipment. A small backpack is useful for carrying your personal items.

No. You are welcome to bring food and snacks along. However, we do stay active and usually don’t have time for a full sit down lunch.

Sporting or casual attire appropriate for the temperature. Wear what you would for a short hike. Closed toed shoes(tennis shoes, sneakers, hiking boots) are required. No sandals or flip-flops!

An Important Note About Cannabis

Yes, cannabis is legal in Colorado. No, you can not consume any substance and climb. Denver Climbing Company reserves the right to refuse service if intoxication is suspected.

Cancellations and Weather

You can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours before your trip. Any cancellations with in 24 hours will not receive a refund. Reschedules are always complimentary. Large groups may be subject to different terms.

If the weather forecast looks unclimbable (significant rain, snow, thunderstorms, etc), your guide will make a judgement call on cancelling. As the weather often changes, sometimes a decision won’t be made until right before the trip. In the case of a weather cancellation, a full refund or reschedule will be supplied.

No. Cancellations due to weather are extremely rare. With over 300 days of sunshine every year in Colorado, you can bet on a beautiful day on the cliff!
