Rising 1,200 feet above the town of Boulder, Colorado are the world famous Flatiron rock formations. With moderate difficulty and consistent climbing, the Flatirons are a great place for experienced and intermediate climbers alike. Your guide will be using traditional climbing techniques to lead the way. Upon reaching the top of the Flatirons, we will rappel to the base and hike out. Flatiron climbing is a great way to spend the day. You should be comfortable with belaying, tying in, and basic safety checks. We climb either the 1st or 3rd Flatiron depending on time of year and desired difficulty. This is an amazing climb for those wanting amazing scenery and a memorable adventure. As we climb, expect amazing views of the Colorado plains and mountains. This guided climb of the Flatirons is enjoyable and filled with teachable moments along the way. You can be introduced to the skills of multi-pitch climbing, trad climbing, rappelling, route finding and more. Yes. We suggest being proficient in belaying, knot tying, and basic safety checks. Need to learn the basics? Check out our Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing Class.

No. We will supply all required equipment.

We require climbers to be at least 12 years of age to climb a Flatiron. Many of our other courses are appropriate for all ages.

Cancel for a full refund or reschedule all the way up to your class start time. No questions asked.

If the weather is poor, your guide will make a judgment on cancelling. If the trip is cancelled, you will receive a full refund or rescheduling option.

We request you know how to belay and tie in. Your guide will instruct on any other required techniques you do not know. If this is your first time climbing, we suggest taking the Intro to Outdoor Climbing Class.
